Lynn Viehl at Paperback Writer posted this, and I just had to share. Isn’t this the most awesome example of world-building you’ve ever seen? If you’re a writer, doesn’t it just get your creative juices flowing?
Now I want to read a story or a book set there. Wonder if there are any. If there aren’t, I wonder if the artist would let me write one.
Oh, and by the way: Paperback Writer is an excellent blog by a working, hugely prolific writer. Worth checking out.

On my way there……

Very clever and creative. And I see what you mean about wanting to do something with it yourself.
One thing to keep in mind though, is that unless they have a very sophisticated trash and excrement disposal system and strictly enforced rules on littering, the lower levels (especially the lowest level) will be filthy and dangerous simply from falling debris.
Now, if the society was based on a caste system, rather than economy, it could work. The lower level would have to stay there, cleaning up the refuse, and only hope to ascend in their next life cycle by working hard in this life.

Preposterous: what’d you think?

wordvixen: See what I mean? It just cries out to a writer. I never would have thought of either the litter problem or the caste system solution.
I love this kind of thing.

See, that’s the kind of writing group I’d like to join. A group that discusses things like world building in general, rather than talking about what’s been written.

We might have to start one. Must think on this…
