My boss said ‘yes’! I’m going to the North Slope!
Apparently there will be some training involved, and it’s impossible to get a flight on short notice, so look for some pictures and the story in late December.

Awesome! Before you go, you might want to verify that your camera will function in extreme cold - not all can. I know someone who went trekking in the Himalaya in Oct. and slept with his SLR batteries in his sleeping bag - and that was in relatively mild conditions.

Montucky: I’ll only be going for a day or so, probably, so I’ll have to pass. Hopefully my pics will make you feel like you’re there, though.

Heidi: I hadn’t thought of that. Of course, I’ll be sleeping indoors, but given the lighting conditions (I think it’s permanent Arctic night right now) I’ll be spending some time outdoors with long exposure times. I might just have to email Sony and ask them.

Actually, I think you need BOTH montucky and I to help help carry your luggage. Or, if you want to carry your own luggage, we can watch.
