At first, I was going to write this about how I’m busy at work, and I can’t blog as much for a while, and yada yada yada. But then I realized it’s just more excuses.
So I thought I’d try something else. I write music as well as words, and the jury’s still out on whether my music is any more tolerable than my words, but I thought I’d give you guys a listen, much as Seiche did on his blog not too long ago. I’ve been playing piano and keyboards since I was little, and though I don’t play as much as I used to, I still tinker every now and then.
This one is called “Regrets and Passions,” and I wrote it several years ago. The link below should take you directly to its hosted page on Broadjam, a very cool site where musicians can upload their stuff and sell it, get reviews, etc. Just hit ‘Play.’
Anyway, there it is. I’d be interested in your feedback, good or bad. Hopefully work will slow down a bit soon, and I’ll be able to write some more. Enjoy, and if you feel like sharing the link, feel free!

Bravo! Encore! Encore! I’m so envious. I especially appreciated the spacing. It wasn’t cluttered at all.
I love music and played two concert instruments from 4th through high school, but so far, in my adult life, my attempts at learning new instruments have been much like teaching a turtle to fry an egg. I still have aspirations of holding a banjo or guitar for some other reason than to kill a spider, but in the meantime, I hope you provide us with more listening pleasure.

Glad you liked it, Pinhole. I’ve always wanted to play guitar, but, like you, my attempts at it thus far have been less than spectacular. Maybe we should take lessons at the same time and try to do a ‘dueling banjo’ thing online.
I’ll upload some more as I get to record them.

I’ll be looking forward to seeing more too, wolf. I really loved this one!
That’s a great site you pointed us to as well.
I have taken some guitar lessons, and tried to teach myself, but I haven’t been very successful either. Maybe I can be the judge of the duel between you and Pinhole.

That was excellent! It came across to me as calming and yet haunting. I love classical piano, but haven’t played in many years. I’ll listen to that some more times and maybe it will convince me to start working on it again. It was beautiful!

believin’: Thank you! Broadjam is a great site. I signed up during one of my periodic forays into the world of songwriting.
If you judge our contest I’ll donate the earplugs.

Montucky: Though I’m now officially addicted to writing, there’s something about playing the piano that can’t be duplicated by anything else. I’m glad you liked it, and if I convinced you to take up piano again, I’m very glad!

Egrets and poissons?
It really was beautiful. And who says you can’t have more than one addiction?

Oddly enough, that was my second choice for a title. I’m glad you liked it, and I’m really glad you’re allowed more than one addiction…

Maybe someday Wolf will finish my song (Regrets and Passions) with the orchestra music that he had been working on for me and then you guys will be in for a real treat.

Purrrrr. Very suave. You’re going to make a million dollars .99 cents at a time.

Well, if you ask very nicely, maybe you’ll be allowed to have more than one as well. I’m still working on hubby to let me have a fifth.
Addiction! :-p

Thank you, MissPriss. Know anybody that wants to buy a ringtone?

I know it’s not a good time right now, but when you’re feeling up to it, I tagged you for an evil meme.

That is lovely! I am no musician, but my daughter is very talented and takes piano. I will for sure have her listen to this one.

Glad you liked it, silken. And let me know what she thinks as a pianist, would you?
